The EDT debuts with an immersive musical, “The Ultimate Bid: A Musical Extravaganza”, a fusion of captivating storytelling, original music, and virtual stage effects. This performance transports audiences into a narrative of art and romance set against the backdrop of an auction. One of the highlights of the musical is the collaboration between veteran DJ Dr Wong Chi-chung, HKDI’s virtual idol, Vi and the creative team. They perform and sing the new song “A night with light” through interactive virtual lighting, creating a transcendent experience that bridges time and space.

The immersive musical “The Ultimate Bid: A Musical Extravaganza”  combines technology with design to create a stage where the real and virtual meet. I used Maya and Unreal Engine to build virtual scenes and worked on lighting, set, and smoke effects. Together with LED lights, sound, and special effects, the stage had a rich and layered atmosphere. In the “Inner Demon” scene, endless depth and smoke were used to show struggle and tension, helping the audience feel more connected to the story. Jewelry and fashion design were also included, adding detail and beauty to the stage. This project shows how technology and art can support each other, turning the stage into a space filled with emotion, interaction, and creativity.

The creative idea of “The Ultimate Bid: A Musical Extravaganza”  focuses on clear planning and teamwork between different subjects. I was in charge of the early preparation, setting the direction and basic stage design for the show. I also made a detailed lighting and sound schedule, so that every movement and effect happened at the right time to match the actors and guide the audience’s feelings. I suggested the stage and prop needs too, and worked with classmates from other areas, such as costume design, to make sure the characters’ looks and props fit the story. With careful planning and cooperation, the musical was able to bring out an immersive experience that combines technology and art, telling a story of love and art in an auction setting.
