PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Kai Tak River is a crucial drainage system in East Kowloon, yet sedimentation, pollution, and habitat degradation are major issues affecting the main nullah in the San Po Kong neighbourhood. Despite government efforts to improve the situation, the river is still not an optimal space for attracting wildlife or people.
PROJECT CONCEPT
My main inspiration throughout the entire design process has been the concept of "veins". My primary objectives are to establish various zoning layers, integrate aspirations for ecological restoration, and create opportunities for interactions between people, the environment, and the river.
