PROJECT BACKGROUND
My collection draws inspiration from the Buddhist and wabi-sabi concepts of imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. These ideas are derived from the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence (三法印, sanbōin), specifically addressing impermanence (無常, mujō), suffering (苦, ku) and emptiness or absence of self-nature (空, kū). My personal design aesthetic is reflected in this project by the use of minimal colors, simple silhouettes and clean cuts.
