Hong Kong Old Street Market

PROJECT BACKGROUND
In Hong Kong, several grassroots elements, including streets, places, and landscapes, are being demolished. The city's buildings and landscapes are now expected to be modern, high-end, middle-class, bright, tidy, and new. As a result, the street culture that was developed by absorbing the local environment and people has slowly vanished from the old streets and districts of the city, leading to the erasure of Hong Kong's citizens' most authentic urban memories. The old markets serve as a prime example of this loss.
To capture the essence of Hong Kong's old markets, a considerable amount of time was spent on collecting data and I have decided to showcase it through four tunnel books, along with lights and sounds.
