Modular Community
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Transitional housing is a short-term accommodation program for residents who are waiting to move into long-term housing. Modularizing the whole community is suitable for people who only stay for 6-8 years. It provides spatial efficiency and flexibility to change, to adapt to different people at different scales.
PROJECT CONCEPT
This design focuses on three major scale categories: living units, housing units, community units. Modularization gives standard sizes of the living units like toilets and kitchens to be fitted into each flat. The combination of the living units creates modular flats at different scales which can provide functions for various people of different backgrounds.
