Engraved Flower
Every piece is a testament to history and a cherished work of art, merging practicality with aesthetic appeal, showcasing the essence of local culture.
Background
Several locations in Guangdong Province, China, are on a quality rural tourism project list, receiving priority for national and provincial support. To enhance the refinement and uniqueness of rural tourism, cities should accelerate the development of innovative cultural products. This project encourages students to design products reflecting Chinese rural culture.
CONCEPT
The "Engraved Flower" combines the traditional architectural features of the loquat buildings in Luoba Town with local patterns from Taidong Village and Hakka culture. It includes decorative items such as pop-up cards and postcards, as well as practical items like refrigerator magnets and oil tea flower cakes. The flower tea patterns are embedded in the packaging of the loquat buildings, hence the name "Engraved Flower Inlaid." This is derived from the idiom "to depict with fine detail," reflecting the meticulous craftsmanship that leads to the final product, which holds both aesthetic and collectible value.
