Waves of Nature

Background

My project focuses on creating a pavilion located in Long Valley Nature Park to address the lack of resting spaces for farmers and park visitors, especially during unique local festivals like Harvest Day. The pavilion features a wave-like structure that provides shelter, fostering a harmonious relationship between the built environment and nature. By integrating natural elements into the design, the pavilion offers a place for rest and reflection, celebrating both the beauty of the park and the vibrant culture of the local community.

CONCEPT

The Waves of Nature Pavilion is inspired by the black-winged stilt, a bird that thrives in the local ecosystem. Its design features flowing lines and natural materials, creating a welcoming space for community activities. With a flexible layout for workshops and gatherings, the pavilion prioritizes sustainability and user experience. Structural frames mimic the bird's legs, enhancing the connection to nature. Surrounding native landscaping attracts local wildlife, promoting environmental awareness. This pavilion serves as a hub for learning and appreciation, enriching the Long Valley community and fostering a deeper relationship with the natural world.
