Snow-covered plum blossoms
Background
This costume collection blends oriental aesthetics with romanticism, drawing inspiration from geisha and white muku silhouettes. Traditional techniques such as paper cutting and landscape painting are used to convey the poetic and resilient spirit of "Treading Snow to Find Plum Blossoms."
CONCEPT
The color palette features white as the dominant tone, symbolizing snow, with red accents representing plum blossoms—capturing the contrast of beauty and strength in winter. The paper-cut plum blossom motifs, inspired by Japanese artist Xuanyou, were hand-drawn and carved over 216 hours. A hand-painted landscape, completed in 30 hours, adds a lyrical depth to the design.
Together, these elements create a visual narrative of elegance, endurance, and cultural richness.
