ENCLOSURE
Background
In recent years, the construction industry has increasingly adopted new technologies such as drones, MiC, and BIM, making it essential to create environments for effective education and training. In Tai Po, where training facilities are adjacent to residential areas, there are challenges such as noise, privacy, and safety, as well as the need to foster a sense of community both inside and outside the facility. This project aims to combine advanced technologies with modular construction to seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor spaces, creating new opportunities for interaction with the local community.
CONCEPT
The design is based on the dual concepts of “concealing” and “connecting.” Multiple tall walls control noise and sightlines, while three large courtyards and carefully planned circulation routes encourage natural connections. By incorporating sustainable modular design and the latest technologies, the facility provides flexible spaces for students and graduates to engage in various activities. The ultimate goal is to establish a new hub for construction education that coexists with the community and promotes learning and collaboration.
