Castle: Fun with Paws
Form & Space Design
创作背景
Recent research highlights a growing number of families in Hong Kong with both pets and children, yet few play areas cater to this combination. In response, a pet-friendly playscape was designed at Kai Tak Avenue Park, offering a unique blend of fantasy and functionality.
Inspired by the concept of a "Castle," the design gracefully adapts to the park's natural slope and is divided into three distinct zones. The Pet Facilities Zone features circularly arranged structures that encourage movement, creating a rhythmic flow that connects users to the space.
The Main Area (Kid Zone) links the zones through stairs, climbing walls, and slides, culminating in a semi-enclosed cave illuminated by natural light—a perfect spot for rest and reflection. The Lookout Zone surprises with a whimsical second-floor structure, offering a sweeping view of the playscape and inviting visitors into a surreal, imagined world.
