VOID

One is All; All is One. The West is also the East; The East is also the West. We are all one; We are all the same.

Background

Void is a state that transcends the boundaries of matter and conceptual limitations. It is seen as infinite and boundless, representing the infinity and interconnectedness of the universe. Everything in the universe is composed of the original substance, highlighting the unity of the cosmos. This implies that every entity in the universe shares the same essential nature, demonstrating the principle of 'One is All, All is One.' Moreover, the concept of emptiness is also central to the Tao Te Ching and Buddhist philosophy , so we will pay close attention to these - sources when collecting relevant data.

CONCEPT

To express the unity and interconnectedness of the universe, I incorporated elements from Eastern and Western cultures. In the Eastern elements, I drew inspiration from Taoism and the concept of emptiness, which encompasses the underlying structure of the universe. Additionally, I embraced the philosophy of wabi-sabi, which highlights the beauty of imperfection and acknowledges that the world cannot be perfectly flawless. In the Western elements, I incorporated references to French crinoline fashion and abstract art. The use of abstract elements allowed me to represent the unseen connections within the universe. The crinoline structure was employed to create the desired organic contours in my work. By combining these ideas, I aimed to demonstrate the interconnectedness of all things and unite the Eastern and Western elements, thereby illustrating that the world is inherently interconnected.
