Revitalising the Cheung Chau Cinema

Background
This project intends to revitalise the partially destroyed Cheung Chau Cinema. Memories captured in old films are replayed and new memories are created by combining the daily activities of the island within the site.
CONCEPT
The intention is to weave old and new architecture and experiences. A new volume is extended from the cinema and rotated to create a public space. A new woven wood structure connects the old and the new architecture and programme.
