Resilient

Background

Resilient, a co-living space, is inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, where broken objects are repaired with gold lacquer to enhance their beauty . The concept is applied to a co-living space designed for a single-parent family, which is also like a broken bowl. This design concept symbolizes resilience and strength in adversity. The design aims to create a nurturing and supportive environment for the family, highlighting the beauty in imperfections and the strength found in overcoming challenges. Through thoughtful use of space planning, materials, and cultural references, Resilient offers a space that celebrates both the struggles and triumphs of its inhabitants, promoting a sense of unity, growth, and resilience within the home.
