Background
Inspired by Western mythology, supernatural beings, and the Japanese porcelain restoration technique ‘kintsugi’, the despise of gods is represented symbolically. These mythical gods and supernatural beings often play the roles of surveillance and governance, ensuring order and justice in the universe. However, despite their superpowers, the destruction of statues still leaves the universe in an unbalanced state of order.
CONCEPT
The themes of surveillance and order depicted in these myths reflect the human desire for power, authority and the obsession with power and control. The message I intend to convey is that individuals may look weak and vulnerable when seeking help, yet personal improvement is a journey that relies on our own efforts.
