GOTT IS TOTT

Broke the stereotype

Background

"The Death of God" is like an empty canvas, ready to be filled with something new, different and more innovative. Gradually, people shed the shackles of feudal superstition and emphasized individual thought and naturalism. As individuals become stronger, they no longer believe in moral values imposed and controlled by God, nor are they weakened by established moral standards, thus increasing their autonomy. Just as the profound traditional culture of China can combine with the diverse ideas of the West to create more unknown and interesting things to appear.

CONCEPT

In this design, I have incorporated many calligraphic texts, the content of which is related to traditional Chinese culture, such as the Three Character Classic, the Women's Classic, as well as some traditional Chinese immortal calligraphy. Additionally, in the work you can see thick red lines that echo the makeup of my team, and on the fabric I have chosen to use undyed denim along with graphics created using a blowtorch element. The circular transparent face mask in the center represents the inherent impressions society holds about ancient traditions. The red lines on the outside signify the forced binding of these inherent impressions. However, these loosely hanging red lines symbolize their eventual detachment and shedding, signifying the desire to remove oneself from the confines of traditional norms. There is a type of knot that exhibits both lightness and dynamism, as if each strand has been cut, signifying the gradual liberation from the traditional ideology called "binding." This design represents the process of breaking free from constraints and embracing freedom.
