Future Holds II
By MAK Hoi Kee
Background
In my work "Future Holds", I explored the connection between fashion and technology. By creating the futuristic silhouette, you can feel the elusiveness and plasticity of the future. At the heart of my design are geometric aesthetics and the cyberpunk genre, using colour, fabric texture, and the overall silhouette to present the concept of dystopia and a sense of freedom.
CONCEPT
For OUTFIT TWO, iridescence creates a captivating interplay of light, colour, and form. As the wearer moves, the iridescent tapes refract light in mesmerizing ways, breaking through the constraints of traditional garment design. Another key feature is the Polygon Necklace, which explores the concept of customizable, transformative jewellery. Composed of a series of interconnected glass silver tubes, this necklace can be reconfigured and rearranged by the wearer, allowing them to create unique, personalised silhouettes that complement their individual style and mood. These two outfits form a mini collection for my FYP.
