Background
Extend' is a co-living space that primarily aims to provide a better living environment for young individuals, particularly fresh graduates, new employees, and professionals. It is situated at No. 11 Po Lam Road North, covering an area of 3,811 square meters. The concept of 'Enhance' is inspired by growth and exploration, symbolizing a period of personal transformation and milestones, where individuals broaden their horizons and develop diverse skills. To address the needs and challenges, 'Enhance' offers both individual spaces and shared areas to accommodate a sufficient number of residents. Recognizing that everyone has their own passions, the space encourages mutual support among individuals with similar goals, fostering personal growth and creating a vibrant and fulfilling life. 'Enhance' is set to positively impact the youth by providing them with valuable opportunities for personal development.
CONCEPT
“Co-living is an opportunity to live your own private place but still be part of a ‘family’”, says Jaimee Williams of SPACE10. Growth & Explore Youths are active and passionate, they are curious to explore and broaden their field of view in different areas. During this stage, they have progressed in each experience. CLIENT The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups was established in 1960 which is the largest non-profit youth service organization in Hong Kong. There are more than 90 service units to provide support and beneficial activities for young people and families in Hong Kong. Their services are youth-oriented and are committed to developing the following 12 ‘ core services’ to respond to the changing needs of youth. USERS The age range of my users are between 18 to 30 years old, they may be a current students, fresh graduating and new employees. One key characteristic of youth is their energy and enthusiasm. They often approach new experiences with a sense of vigor and excitement. This often drives their desire for exploration, self- expression, and the pursuit of personal growth. SITE This site is located in No.11, Po Lam Road North which is a bustling area so there are less people gather around or walk pass by. The area size is about 3,811 square meters (41,021.26 square feet) and the location is near the highway, there may be some affection such as sound pollution and air pollution from vehicles.
