CIC Student Innovation Hub

Using the Building Information Modeling (BIM) system develop a realistic academy with design requirements

Background

The project site is in Kowloon Bay. The previous building on the site, known as the Zero Carbon Building. The new proposed development for the site is a student innovation academy. The project uses Building Information Modelling (BIM) as the design tool and encourages collaboration with different disciplines, such as building services and structural engineering, to develop a formal and realistic project.

CONCEPT

The design concept aims to create a sustainable building through the incorporation of a Modular Integrated Construction (MIC) system, which can significantly reduce construction waste, energy usage, and overall environmental impact. Also focuses on enhancing social interaction and community through the inclusion of a central courtyard as well as strategically placed public spaces. Furthermore, the design incorporates multiple openings positioned in diverse orientations to enable natural ventilation and maximize the utilization of natural sunlight, further contributing to the building's overall sustainability.
