Revitalisation of the Old Sham Shui Po Reservoir
Background
This proposal uses the existing ruins of the reservoir as a backdrop for current and new community activities. The natural flow of people through the site is maintained while introducing new cultural activities and public spaces within and around the building.
CONCEPT
The design concept is based on the original function of the reservoir and the characteristics of water flow. Parts of the building remain in ruins and others are changed to create a dialogue between old and new. Rain water is collected and circulated through the building connecting different activities.
