PROJECT BACKGROUND

This project focuses on designing a temporary timber pavilion on the HKDI campus to provide a gathering space for students. The key insights from the research include the lack of comfortable gathering spaces on the campus and the importance of flexibility and adjustability in the design. Traditional construction methods and woodworking joints were also used to ensure stability and durability.

PROJECT CONCEPT

The deliverable is a flexible and adjustable space, using traditional construction methods and woodworking joints, with multi-functional furniture and sensory design. The intended audience is students, and the context is the lack of comfortable gathering spaces on campus.
