PROJECT BACKGROUND

“A Letter to…” involved the development for altering an aged cultural building into a mix used building. It aimed to endow a new intangible value and meaning for the building and protect its collective memories to promote the building's life. The project calls attention to the issues about the disappearance of handwriting inspired by an aged cultural post office and postal gallery about to be demolished. The project was designed as a post office, postal museum and calligraphy gallery for tourist and locals. The project symbolises a letter to the public, to society, and to memories.
