Chinese Characters Crossover - Sima Qian
PROJECT BACKGROUND
” This project is to design Chinese historical figures in unique styles and create models for 3D model printing. The objective of the project is to represent the re-created stories with 3D model printings. 5 characters, namely Qiu Jin, Du Fu, Qu Yuan, Sima Qian, and Xin QiJi, were selected by the Chinese History Education Centre. The styles adapted included Fairy Tale, Magic World, Deep Sea Reborn, Steampunk, and Cyberpunk. In the alternative universal plot, the background story of each character was based on Chinese history.”
PROJECT CONCEPT
'At the end of the twentieth century, civilians living in chaotic and dilapidated 'underground towns' were ruled by a perfect city up in the heaven. Some civilians could not bear this kind of life. They formed various organisations and parties to seize the ruler at the time. As a result, the entire 'underground town' started to have internal disputes. As the street violence continued, the entire town turned into a bloody deadlock… Sima Qian, a young leader, was going to turn this cruel world to a fair world that everyone wished to live in.'
