PROJECT BACKGROUND
The song We are is by the Japanese band ONE OK ROCK. The song has a special version which involves 1000 teenagers singing together to celebrate their 18th birthday. The song tells listeners that teenagers are not losers and useless. They are the light of society. The lyrics encourage people not to fear the darkness and to be confident in themselves.
PROJECT CONCEPT
A permanent marker was used to render the cover art, foil stamped with a rainbow effect in black. Against the black background, the rainbow colours become prominent. The purpose is to respond to the meaning of the lyrics and express that the youth is the light, which is colourful in the darkness. 20 different typefaces were used to express different teenagers singing the song.
