PROJECT BACKGROUND
People generally have misunderstandings and prejudices about being on their own, thinking that personal life is lonely or undesirable. They may feel nervous about not being surrounded by the activity of other people, or worry about how others will view them if they seek out solitude. As a result, they cannot enjoy even their favourite activities if they are by themselves. Even if they want to have personal time and space, they may not have the courage to carry it out.
PROJECT CONCEPT
The target group is 18 to 25-year-old young people in Hong Kong, since maturity and independence are often demanded of this age group. I have designed a diary to help them enjoy their personal time. Over three levels and, 30 different personal activities, they will advance through several stages, noting changes in their mentality, and after completion of the activities, they will become more independent and comfortable being by themselves.
