Mother
PROJECT BACKGROUND
A cassette tape is used as a medium to link the past and the present, and to reconnect with my mother. With a dialogue between a mother and a child, the three videos reconstruct my moment with my mother through imagination. My goal is to revisit the mother-child relationship and reestablish communication with my mother.

Mother is installed as three videos projected on the wall, with a dialogue between a mother and a child played from a cassette tape. The projections show three ways of reconstructing the time with my mother from different perspectives. The central video combines footage of my mother and me while the other videos show the actions of pulling out the cassette tape and forming part of my mother’s face.
