Growing Up
PROJECT BACKGROUND
This year, everyone needed to stay at home for a long time because of the social movement and the pandemic. I have made use of this chance to learn more about flowers and started to appreciate their beauty. I studied the growing process of flowers and realized how it reflected my life. I then worked on my project with the use of ceramics to mould the images.
PROJECT CONCEPT
The young people in Hong Kong are often called ‘flowers incubated in a greenhouse’ which means that they are always well-protected. The social movement in the last few months have brought about a lot of impacts and changes to people, especially the younger generation. This has also made me think about the meaning of survival and the beliefs of our society.
