PROJECT BACKGROUND

Walking around Sham Shui Po, one could see a large amount of colourful gaai jiu (flyposters) in every street corner. They represent dialogues of life stories in the old district of Hong Kong. The overlapping of various types of gaai jiu create a unique text scenery of Sham Shui Po. Gaai Jiu Talk showcases the aesthetics and cultural significance of gaai jiu, reflecting the life of people living in Sham Shui Po.
